FAQ

TinySeats Two

Where can I find the manual?

The Quick Start Guide is located behind the fabric flap below the headrest. For videos and the full manual, scan the QR code or visit Install & Go.

Can the seat be used without ISOFIX?

The rear-facing positions require the use of ISOFIX. When the seat is used as a forward-facing booster for older children, we recommend securing it with ISOFIX, although the car’s 3-point seat belt is sufficient.

We recommend using ISOFIX for the booster mode because, without a child in the seat, it’s easy to forget to secure the seat properly. Using ISOFIX ensures that the seat remains safely anchored even when not in use.

Is the seat cover available in other colors?

No, at the moment the cover is only available in Midnight Grey. We are prioritizing other product development, but in the future, we will likely introduce new colors for our products.to receive information about new products.

Why are other travel seats lighter?

TinySeats Two is a complex product with a steel frame designed to manage the extreme forces an accident may cause. The steel frame and the isofix system adds a significant amount to the product weight of 10 kg, yet we have chosen safety over weight-reduction as not to compromise on our children’s safety.

What is the advantage with such a narrow seat?

To make TinySeats foldable and as compact as possible, all dimensions have been minimized, and the seat has been designed to be narrow and without edges. At first glance, this might seem uncomfortable, but in reality, it has proven that children appreciate being able to angle their legs outward and place them on the sides of the seat, avoiding having their knees pressed up against their chest. This is especially valuable as the children’s legs grow longer, making it more challenging to keep them seated rear-facing.

Can the seat be reclined in different angles?

No, to ensure that TinySeats meet the safety regulations the backrest has been fixed in one position. Different cars have different angles on their seats and the angel of the backrest will depend on the shape of the car seat.

The insert for children aged 9 – 24 months increases the angle of the backrest, making it more suitable for small children.

How to raise the backrest?

The following video clip shows how you raise the backrest.

How do I tighten the harness?

The harness should only be used when TinySeats Two is in the rear-facing position. To tighten the harness, ensure that the headrest is correctly positioned. If the headrest is too high, you will not be able to tighten the harness properly. The harness should be at shoulder height, not above it. Please refer to the manual for detailed instructions on how to properly install your child in the seat.

How should the neckrest be positioned?

It’s important that the headrest is positioned at the correct height in relation to the child’s shoulders to ensure the harness can be tightened properly. A correctly positioned headrest reduces friction on the harness straps and makes the harness easier to adjust. If the headrest is too low, it may feel impossible to loosen the harness, and the child’s shoulders can be pushed forward. On the other hand, if the headrest is too high, it may seem like the harness is fully tightened, but there will still be too much space between the harness and the child’s body.

The correct height is when the harness emerges approximately 1–2 cm below the child’s shoulders. This allows the harness to be tightened securely and snugly over the child’s shoulders.

How do I push the support leg all the way in after use?

You may notice that when pushing the upper part of the support leg back into its "sleeve," it often stops about 3 cm before it is fully inserted and becomes difficult to push further.

To solve this, try adjusting the angle of the support leg slightly by tilting it gently toward the back of the seat. This small change in angle usually allows the remaining part of the leg to slide smoothly into place.

Usage

What’s the best way to protect my TinySeats when flying?

When flying with your TinySeats, it is especially important to protect the ISOFIX connectors, as they are the most delicate part of the seat. The easiest way to do this is by using our specially designed SeatCase, which provides protection with a hard shell and a custom-padded insert.

If you don’t have such a case, you can pack the seat in another hard suitcase and cushion it with items such as clothing.

We do not recommend checking in the seat in a soft bag, as the risk of damage is significantly higher. If you must use a soft bag, ensure the seat is carefully wrapped in soft, protective materials such as towels or clothing. The ISOFIX connectors should receive extra protection, for example, by covering them with a piece of tubing and wrapping fabric (such as socks) around them.

Does it cost anything to check in a car seat when flying?

Many airlines allow you to bring a car seat without an additional charge, but the rules vary between companies. You should always check what applies to your specific airline.

Here’s an overview of the rules for some common airlines in Europe. We will extend this list of South East Asia airlines as we get more information.

SAS: You can check in a stroller and a car seat free of charge, in addition to the baggage included with the child's ticket. The stroller and/or car seat should be packed in a plastic bag or protective cover.

Norwegian: A checked stroller and a car seat can be checked in free of charge, regardless of the child's age.

BRA: When traveling with an infant (0-23 months), you can bring a stroller and a car seat in addition to the baggage included in your chosen ticket type. Children aged 2-11 years can bring a car seat free of charge in addition to the baggage included in the ticket.

Ryanair: You can check in two baby equipment items per child (e.g., a stroller and a car seat) free of charge. Additional baby equipment can be checked in for a fee.

Finnair: In addition to the allowed free checked baggage for the child's ticket, you can bring a collapsible stroller and a car seat at no extra charge.

IMPORTANT: Don’t forget to contact your specific airline in advance to confirm their current rules and guidelines.
